Our current way of life is absolutely saturated by oil. There is hardly any aspect that is unaffected by the price or availability of fuel. Here are two recent examples of how rodeo riders are pinched by the costs of transporting their animals and how commuters can’t afford to live too far away from work. The design of most American cities is unsustainable when evaluated through the lens of costly fuel.
